RFID Tag Availability Now Cited As Major Concern

October 22, 2004—ABI Research released it's RFID Quarterly Service this week, which "provides up to date insight into the trends, players, and technology impacting RFID market growth and adoption." A notable point in this report includes the addition of tag availability to the list of concerns confronting RFID adopters. Other, ever-familiar concerns cited were return on investment, standards, and accuracy and performance. Another note of interest came in the form of a comment ABI's resident RFID expert analyst Erik Michielsen made to internetnews.com: many suppliers will not meet the RFID mandate deadline of January 1, 2005, and instead will be given room to comply within the first few months of the year.
